I was born in Manhattan and raised in the Bronx where I went to the Bronx High School of Science. I then went to Boston University and Boston University School of Medicine. I did an internship in San Francisco at the Pacific Presbyterian Hospital and a residency at Contra Costa County Hospital in Martinez, California. After years in general practice I came home to New York and did a family practice residency in Kingston, where I became Chief Resident, graduating in 1994. I became certfied by the American Board of Family Medicine in 1996.
